Is it allowed to copy photos from these pages and publish them?

NO. All rights reserved. All kind of publishing (including web) of these photos is prohibited. Please respect my copyrights and do not use photos without permission.

Are the photographed dragonflies immobilised?

No, there is no posing. All of the images here are of live animals in a natural setting. The insects were not chilled or hurt to prevent them moving.

Where have these photos been taken?

All photos have been taken in Finland. Many of them are from Espoo and Virolahti because I live(d) in Espoo and our summer cottage is in Virolahti. Both places are located in the southern coast of Finland.

What species I still miss?

During my more than 15 years of dragonfly photography I have photographed all the 54 species of Finland, both males and females of every species.

Where have my photos been published?

More than 200 of my best dragonfly photos were published in the book on the dragonflies of Finland. There is only a sample in these web pages. I have got several honourable mentions in the Finnish Nature Photograph of the Year competition. In the book called Nature Photographs of the Year my insect photos has been published in 1993, 1995, 1996, 1999, 2000, 2004 and 2007.
